Makes about 6 servings.
Moong Dal (without the green husk) : 100 grams
Ghee : 80 grams
Sugar : 130 grams
Besan : 2 teaspoons
Cardamom (Elaichi) powdered : ½ teaspoon
Almonds pieces : 1 tablespoon
Cashew pieces : 1 tablespoon
Soak moong dal in water for 4-5 hours.
Drain the water from the dal and grind it, keeping it a little coarse.
Heat the ghee in a frypan and add besan.
Add the ground dal and fry till it becomes golden brown.
Boil 250 grams of water and pour it in the fried dal slowly while stirring. Continue to stir until all the water has been absorbed.
Add sugar to the dal and stir until the ghee starts to separate.
Garnish with almond and cashew pieces.
