Moong Dal Halwa
Moong Dal (without the green husk) : 100 grams
Ghee : 80 grams
Sugar : 130 grams
Besan : 2 teaspoons
Cardamom (Elaichi) powdered : ½ teaspoon
Almonds pieces : 1 tablespoon
Cashew pieces : 1 tablespoon
- Soak moong dal in water for 4-5 hours. Drain the water from the dal and grind it, keeping it a little coarse.
- Heat the ghee in a frypan and add besan. Add the ground dal and fry till it becomes golden brown.
- Boil 250 grams of water and pour it in the fried dal slowly while stirring. Continue to stir until all the water has been absorbed.
- Add sugar to the dal and stir until the ghee starts to separate.
Garnish with almond and cashew pieces.
- Serve hot.
