This is a very traditional Kannadiga style sweet that is a must have as a prasad for all pujas, and Satyanarayana Puja in particular. The recipe is very simple and uses exact measurements with foolproof results, which means you don’t have to taste it before offering it as prasad for the puja.

Milk : 1 Cup
Sooji (medium) : 1 Cup
Sugar : 1 Cup
Ghee : 1/2 Cup
Ripe Banana (chopped) : 1 Cup
Saffron (Kesari) : 1 pinch
Cashews and Raisins : 2 Tbsp
Directions
- Add all the other ingredients except the cashews and raisins and cook on a low fire stirring to prevent the mixture from sticking to the bottom, or becoming lumpy. Continue until the ghee separates.
- Stir the cashews and raisins into the prasada and remove from the fire

- Optional: Roast the Sooji in a thick Kadai or sauce pan until it turns a light golden brown
