This is a very traditional Kannadiga style sweet that is a must have as a prasad for all pujas, and Satyanarayana Puja in particular. The recipe is very simple and uses exact measurements with foolproof results, which means you don’t have to taste it before offering it as prasad for the puja.

Ingredients

  • Milk : 1 Cup
  • Sooji (medium) : 1 Cup
  • Sugar : 1 Cup
  • Ghee : 1/2 Cup
  • Ripe Banana (chopped) : 1 Cup
  • Saffron (Kesari) : 1 pinch
  • Cashews and Raisins : 2 Tbsp

Instructions

  • Add all the other ingredients except the cashews and raisins and cook on a low fire stirring to prevent the mixture from sticking to the bottom, or becoming lumpy. Continue until the ghee separates.
  • Stir the cashews and raisins into the prasada and remove from the fire
