Moong Dal Halwa

Ingredients

  • Moong Dal (without the green husk) : 100 grams

  • Ghee : 80 grams

  • Sugar : 130 grams

  • Besan : 2 teaspoons

  • Cardamom (Elaichi) powdered : ½ teaspoon

  • Almonds pieces : 1 tablespoon

  • Cashew pieces : 1 tablespoon

Directions

  • Soak moong dal in water for 4-5 hours. Drain the water from the dal and grind it, keeping it a little coarse.
  • Heat the ghee in a frypan and add besan. Add the ground dal and fry till it becomes golden brown.
  • Boil 250 grams of water and pour it in the fried dal slowly while stirring. Continue to stir until all the water has been absorbed.
  • Add sugar to the dal and stir until the ghee starts to separate.
    Garnish with almond and cashew pieces.
  • Serve hot.
